With ISO 19593 (PDF Processing Steps) packaging and product developers and designers can specify post-print workflow components with a PDF file in a language-independent, vendor-neutral way.
PDF Processing Steps allows packaging production workflows to include specifications for cutting, varnishing, embossing, adding braille and other post-print operations.
When associated with OCGs, processing steps information allows authors, users or workflow operators to choose specific elements, for example, to verify cut-marks, check colors, or evaluate other considerations, all from the same PDF file that will be used for print.
This ISO standard is only available for purchase directly from the ISO or an ISO member body. Members may access drafts via the PDF Association's Category A liaison with the ISO.
