Members of ISO 32000 in San Jose

Several PDF Association members are joining the TC’s Member Body delegates for the ISO TC 171 meetings in San Jose this week.

From April 19 to 24 (yes, we began on Sunday), the ISO working groups for ISO 32000, PDF/A, PDF/UA, XFDF, ECMAScript, ECMAScript for 3D and more are meeting at Adobe Systems’ headquarters to continue development of these specifications.

To prepare for this week’s meetings the WG 8 committee (ISO 32000) conducted 24 hours of teleconference meetings over February and March to digest almost 1,000 comments received against the Draft International Standard (DIS) of ISO 32000-2.

PDF Association members participating in a systematic review led by PDF Association chairman Olaf Drümmer submitted approximately two-thirds of the comments received.

The San Jose meetings are the first of two sets of in-person meetings in 2015. The outcome of these meetings will include a new (and hopefully, final) DIS of ISO 32000.

The 2nd set of in-person meetings in 2015 will take place in Basel, Switzerland from November 16-20, 2015.
